Established in 1732, Georgetown is South Carolina's
third oldest city. The oak-lined avenues, of this "little
Charleston" city, boasts group tour treasures for even the
most discriminating travelers. The riverfront is alive with activity
along with history. Dining, shopping and scenery reign supreme.
Stroll the Harbor walk and discover a wide collection
of art galleries, charming shops & fantastic restaurants.
Take in a history tour, or head to the waterfront for a boat ride
on the harbor. The Harbor walk is a charming waterfront boardwalk
overlooking the Sampit River Harbor, the boardwalk lined with
restaurants, galleries, antique shops and specialty stores. Shoppers
have more than 30 specialty shops to browse. A potpourri of art
galleries and quaint shops offer a treasure trove of books, clothes,
fine art, jewelry, crafts, cards and antiques.
Guided or self-guided historical tours are readily
available. A favorite way to see Georgetown is by boat. A selection
of boat tours will take you in and around Winyah Bay and the surrounding
rivers, past plantation mansions.
Georgetown is located where four rivers, the Waccamaw,
Black, Pee Dee, and Sampit—converge on the Intracoastal
Waterway, for the more hardy visitors, you may tour these beautiful
waters by Canoe or Kayak, or just go Fishing to your heart’s
content.
Situated mid-way between Charleston and Myrtle
